The
minimum yield of a vine rooted in 70% quarts stone is truly reflected in this
wine. The flinty, blackpowder nose with a mineral palate will become more pronounced.
As
with previous vintages, the 2012 Special Cuvée originates from the estate's
prime Sauvignon site and, with minimal handling in the cellar, the unique terroir
was allowed to imprint itself on the wine.
This
Chardonnay, fermented with natural yeast present on the grapes, abounds with
flavours of pineapple and peardrops. Deliciously complex in style.
This
fine Chardonnay is a tribute to classic winemaking of ages past. Barrel-fermented
with natural yeast present on the grapes, it was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Fermented
uncrushed with natural yeasts, grapes harvested at full seed ripeness produce
a velvety wine with softer tannins and classical varietal characteristics. This
traditional wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Twenty
three years ago we cleared a piece of land that was deemed unsuitable and planted
Cabernet Sauvignon. Today - we have lived with this wine so long, that to trade
it for money is painful. It is a piece of our history, our passion, our labour
and luck.
Ten
years ago, our very own Bordeaux Blend was a mere dream. Today, our patience
is rewarded in this Work of Time.
The elegant, yet powerful wine was fermented with wild vineyard yeasts, spent one year in barrels and one year in a bottle prior to release.
